Ford Ranger Collector's Club

I've had a hood come up and lost a wheel. I think the wheel was more scary.

At the same time? That would be interesting.

My wife’s Edge has a knack for a wheel coming loose, has done it three times. Has yet to lose it though. I marked it after the third time to see if it is the same one.

I retorque my Ranger and F-150 religiously, NEVER had one come loose after the initial torque. Edge can’t make it 20 miles before it gets shaky. Retorque and after that and it is fine.

Separate incidents thankfully. Wheel was on an F150 I'd had in the garage for months. Pretty sure I just put the wheel on and got distracted before tightening them. When I finally finished working on it, I lost it on the way to a nearby garage for an inspection.

Do you by any chance do a lot of driving in New Jersey?

Even better... I work for a county in NJ. I get to tow the impounded car in after they crash.

So my relatively new involvement in the Wheel Horse community and my proximity to that Society of Oddfellows big show (seriously, they are as bad as us, or worse) has gotten me thinking. Those guys have internet forums, we have internet forums. They have a big show every year that people come from miles around to go to. Why don't we have a big show?

WHCC got started by just two guys deciding to find other guys who collected a certain brand of lawn tractor. Why don't we do that?

We can use my back yard, or maybe I can get the school parking lot for next summer.

What is the age bracket of the guys that go to those shows?

Maybe it's because you don't get to take your tractor places for people to see like you can with your Ranger.

We have the Anniversary trail ride in September, but I'd like to have a gathering of 2WD & 4WD that was noting more that a gathering to check out each others truck, meet, swap parts, etc.

The next question becomes, where do you hold it? That would be wherever you can get the most people together at. Probably the mid-west or northeast.

Let's do it.

I got one I'm fixing up and I keep sputtering while taking off or while trying to shift between 3 and 4 gear. Truck is 2.9 automatic 4x4. Any ideas? Replaced cap n Roter, plugs n leads, coil, changed oil with Shell rotella diesel oil, just started this, ran seafoam thru tank..help

O2 sensor can cause that.

What is the age bracket of the guys that go to those shows?

I don't know for sure. Judging by the things I see at RedSquare I'm probably one of their younger members, and I'm 33. Most of the guys there either have kids older than mine, or are clearly retired, based on the things they post about doing through the week. A lot of them talk about their grand kids, who are close in age to my kids.
