I kinda like the sound of a VW air cooled 4 cylinder with an 1 5/8 header and a stacked 4 inch super trap.

I did enough work with them that I believe they caused me some permanent hearing loss.

Yeah, I agree. And some of the 4 banger Subaru motors sound pretty good too. And the Offenhauser 4 bangers sounded good at crazy high rpm's.

But making a 2.3 DI turbo sound good? I think that's an unattainable goals. But with every day there is hope I will be proved wrong.

Theres nothing like the sound of a flat 4, throw on an unequal length header and thats just icing on the cake.. was my favorite part of subaru ownership hands down.

Any v8 with a flat plane crank sounds wild because it's essentially two 4 cylinder motors firing what.. 90° out from each other? Recipe for awesome right there.

All I was trying to imply was the 2.3 sounds miles better than the average 4cyl. Sort of comparing oranges to clementines here.. but ive heard some focus RS'es that the average 4 banger couldnt even dream of sounding like. Rowdy.

Like sarge said though, just one man's opinion.
