TRS Event Ford Ranger 40th Anniversary - Truck Nationals - Carlisle PA

Seems like I remember Harrisburg to Pittsburg being about 6hrs. But that was back in the 70’s with 55mph speed limit and me and my brother getting fidgety in the back seat.
More like 4. Pittsburgh to Philly is 6 hours minimum and you don't even have to change roads.
We will apply what we learn this year to next year. @bobbywalter can't make it (probably) and @Jim Oaks can only be there Sunday but we got this.
If Jim could send a banner along with TRS-2 that we could zip-tie to the tent.
I've seen other clubs like the Thunderbird people selling t-shirts and stuff if you could send along some of those.
Speaking of, my TRS Carlisle shirt is ordered. Royal blue to match my truck.
Does Jim know if they will give us a table and chairs? I can bring a folding 6' table from my office.
If this goes well then next year we can work with Carlisle on tables and chairs and charge a small fee for catering. Several clubs at Ford Nationals have lunch for members. We don't have to it's just an idea. I don't know if Carlisle has to do the catering or if you can call anyone local. TRS rednecks be knocking down some brie and Grey Poupon.

Speaking of, I do not seem to be able to order a TRS Carlisle shirt. The link just takes me to the regular site and then it's not there.

He could send the TRS flag. I was thinking about making a stand and bringing a short version of my flag pole to put it up next to TRS2 in the building. But it probably wouldn’t display right inside without wind.

They can’t keep me out.

Make way, everybody! I’m coming through with the famous TRS-2!!!!
Make sure you got stickers for that one too or if you will pick them up at the office.

I think Jim has a banner or two.

My new tent came in today. I got a Gazelle T3X Overland.
I booked spot 221.

I guess I’m all ready. How can I help get vehicles to the fairgrounds, the state, etc?

@bobbywalter was talking about dropping off his Bronco II since he has to be somewhere else. I mentioned you.

Everything I'm bringing is registered. I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Or, if it gets delivered to Jim, he can just bring it when we meet in Tennessee. Otherwise, I'll have to stop at the building outside the gate and get my package that way.

so...i should leave it at home?

i will be travelling from tunkhannock to jersey.....passing right by snowranger....dang it....that really sux...

i got some 31's for it today....used...but mostly solid. i would drive it to California and back....without a thought.... same with my ranger....

of course...these....uhhhh.. machines would likely terrify most people....so there is that :woot: .....

i would trailer it out.....my trailer pulls very well....its a 10 k unit with decent brakes....then i could leave the mud tires on it so it looks like a bronco is supposed to.....it does look silly with 31's...hell even 33's

Madisyn (it is her birthday too....she was my birthday present 27 years ago)......just took it for a joy ride and said it is way smoother then she remembers even with those wobbly ass tires......and misses it for sure...her boyfriend is all tore up and casted up until after this event or I would just have her come down. it was his first time in that thing...and now he loves it too....

but....if it has to wait till next time...so be it.

and remember....Madisyn...she was either riding her yz250.....or driving that thing or my ranger to high school......so i was surprised when she commented that is was driving well....she was 15 in these pics.....

I just ordered the trailer brake controller for my truck… what do we need to do to make this happen??!

a place to leave it....that is reasonably safe.

I’ll talk to my buddy Marty tomorrow about putting it in his driveway. He lives about 15 minutes from the fairgrounds.
I’ve got plenty of room at my house, but I’m 3 hours away. I can always leave it at my house, borrow my boss’s tow dolly, and tow it out to PA when I go.

aye. i can take it with me to work....and run it down on thurs or fri maybe. i can leave it on the trailer.
