TRS Event Ford Ranger 40th Anniversary - Truck Nationals - Carlisle PA

Yeah, that’s the bottom of the hill. I haven’t been there in years, but I’m pretty sure you’re right.
We’re also pretty close to building T, where TRS2 will be.
*EDIT*
Upper right is the hill. My bad.

I ended up booking a spot at the dear run camping resort in the back corner with you other guys.
I tried to find some place that wasn’t as expensive, but couldn’t find anything that was close by.

For as big of a fair grounds as it is, you would think there would be more stuff around.

What spot number are you in?

There is a big vacant lot a few blocks away where we camp at the Ford Nationals but for some reason it's not open for the Truck Nationals. No water or electric but they have a line of porta potties and there is a bathhouse next to the car wash area in the Fairgrounds that is well-kept.

At Ford I always camp in the same spot under some trees and next to a group of good dudes from south central PA and north central MD who bring some pretty impressive rides.

Lots of hotels nearby but they tend to be pricey on event weekends and I have a bunch of camping stuff so I might as well use it. Deer Run was the closest campground I could find. I like my tent and air mattress and crunchy percolator coffee in the morning.

The plan for now is for at least me and Eric to get there Thursday and take TRS-2 to the Fairgrounds, give it a wash, and put it in the building. Dinner Thursday at Primanti Brothers in nearby Camp Hill since Eric has seen my pics of their sandwiches on Facebook and wants to go. https://primantibros.com
Otherwise everyone is on their own. I plan on breakfast and dinner at the campground and getting whatever for lunch at the Fairgrounds.

There is a car museum in Hershey that i would kinda like to get to since I'm in the neighborhood but Sunday might be the only day and I don't know if I could squeeze it in. http://aacamuseum.org

They use the camping lot for trailer parking at the Truck Nats. Trucks take up a lot of room and they plan for that.

I’ll be there on Thursday afternoon, count me in for dinner.

Did you just say there is a car wash facility on the fairgrounds? I had scouted out one nearby and was planning to hit that if I’m early enough.
I’ll have to give you a call Thursday morning and give you my ETA. If all goes well, I may depart my hotel in Tennessee between 6:00 and 7:00 Thursday morning which will put me in Carlisle midafternoon. I hate cutting it close and having to rush through check-in stuff that I’m not familiar with.

So we’ve got spots 218-222… it looks like 223 and 224 are still available. I only reserved my spot for 1 adult and 1 vehicle, but I think I can add another person, tent, and vehicle if need be.

Yes, the car wash station is about 200 yards in after the main gate (Gate 3). I'll bring car wash supplies, naturally. Mens and ladies rooms and showers are right behind it.
See if Jim knows if there is a time that TRS-2 has to be there. I would think anytime Thursday since people don't really show up until Friday but I don't know for sure.

It looks like an additional tent is $7 and additional people are $5 each.

As far as I know, it just has to be there some time on Thursday. I'll know more when I get my package. My plan is to go directly to the fairgrounds and get TRS2 situated comfortably. Then head for the campground to set up there.

Me too. We be good.
As it looks on the map Gate 3 is the main entrance at 1000 Bryn Mawr Road and where you want to enter.
Section HH is at least a level area as I recall and not up on the hill where we are at the Ford Nationals.
The green sections at the upper right, yeah, that's a hill.

Same, mine came in over the weekend while I was busy getting wet out in the woods.

I haven’t opened the envelope yet. I was too busy hanging or laying out gear to dry in the garage.
