EDIT: What is the address for the event itself? I can't find it on the web site. I can get to the camp ground but no idea on getting to the event.

Found the address on the fair ground site: 1000 Bryn Mawr Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013

That's the main entrance. There is a building outside the gate where you register and pick up your stickers if you didn't get them in the mail. You need your sticker in the upper left corner of your windshield to drive in to the Fairgrounds.

They can’t keep me out.

Make way, everybody! I’m coming through with the famous TRS-2!!!!

well.....I am on track still for chubbapalooza...

this decision was made before I even knew about this event. they happen at the same time.

I am taking an inordinate amount of time from work already at the most difficult time to do so....the doctors were informed of this the second we found out about a donor and scheduled surgery day for bobby...they thought at that time and still think he should be able to go to the show in new jersey...likely masked up ect....with a transplant the risk is high due to infection as your immune system is fairly non existent due to the anti rejection scenario. this is a 90 day dial in generally and can actually destroy organs...

making the fall round up was/is the priority...and the concert is a strain on that already. the round up was on the schedule first...we almost did not make it last year because bobby was wiped out from the double porting....and I ASSU MED... he did not want to go. the year before last... I screwed up the dates and did not make it...which sucked...and is embarrassing.. I took the time off...just wrong time..derp...

and since this could be the last tour for metallica...we are going if at all possible.

the bummer is Bobbys birthday and graduation party are on the 12th(well the 8th is his birthday) so over the next week I will have to make a decision....of how things will go. what sux is it puts us out of the dream cruise....had my wife consulted with me on this issue I would have made it for then. our priorities are different...hers are not car related.... but depending on work i might not make anything after the concert all the way till october.......not even Bobs party.

so alternately...

what I may do, if someone has room...or there is interest... is drop off my bronco to one of you pa guys..when I head through to work.....I am looking at a set of used 31's for it for the street....it is spooled and murdering the iroks...and they are not for the road anyway...the dry rot is accelerating.

then maybe pop in a bit on fri....but probably not as the bus leaves cleveland thurs I think for new jersey...and possibly have one or two of my daughters come out to the event and run with the bronco...or not...

it needs radius arms....these ones are beat but I am most likey not getting to that this year at all let alone this month.......I have run a few tanks of gas through the fresher 4.0 and trans...and it runs fine. I drove it out to ann arbor to visit with Kim and Bob at the hospital and grave yard and down to maumee....55 mph because the tires are less then ideal...to look at a t56 trans...

like all of my junk...it is a giant pos...but still an example of rbv fun and capacity...and depending on interest I would not mind getting it to one of you to use....

such an epic event....I have to admit I am saddened to not to be able to spend a good 4 days to a week out there.

Happy birthday Bobby!

:icon_cheers:

Ditto on the happy birthday to Bobby.

I don’t have the vehicle to support towing the Bronco to the event. At this point, I don’t think JonnyO or Lil_Blue_Ford can either.

well....its drivable. so if there was a place close....a shuttle run or something.. not sure if anyone is close enough to be feasible and why i am asking.

its 8 hours from home and 3hrs from tunk....its 3 hrs to jersey from tunk as well...so i cant see me making it. 8 hrs...the girls might put up some resistance as well.

whats adsm up to? any sight of him?

Jersey? I’m confused. Carlisle is in PA. Should be a shorter drive than Jersey. Still a pretty good distance from Ohio.

If you can get it to Tennessee, we’ll hook it up behind TRS2 and I’ll tow them both to the show. Anybody else? How long can we make this train?

Don’t tell my insurance company.

I could but it would need a full trailer. With a spool and dry rotted IROKs I don’t think I could tow it on a dolly 2/3 of the way across PA. Snoranger said he had a bud that lives near Carlisle. If it’s pretty close, register it for the show, drop it off at that guy’s place, and we’ll shuttle it over. Helps us get to 25 for next year. That said, it sounds like @bobbywalter has a lot going on and I would tell you not to worry about it and go next year. A trailer with surge brakes is fine, my truck does have the tow package with a 7-pin plug but I do not have an electric brake controller and no time or money now to get one and install it.
Happy birthday in advance to Little Bobby.
As mentioned, my brother-in-law is in similar straits and not doing well but he's like 72.

I think that may be a reference to a place in northeast/north central PA - Tunkhannock. About 1.5-2hrs north of Carlisle.

Lotta people not from PA think that Harrisburg/Carlisle is in the middle of the state and it’s not, more like the eastern third. I hear it at work all the time. Home Office people fly into Harrisburg ‘cause that’s the big office and think they’re going to drive to Pittsburgh in an hour and a half. “We didn’t know Pennsylvania was so big.” Yeah. Carlisle is closer to NJ than it is to Pittsburgh. S'all right, that gives them 45 minutes instead of half the day with me before they have to book to the Pittsburgh airport. Keeps me from talking too much and getting in trouble.

Seems like I remember Harrisburg to Pittsburg being about 6hrs. But that was back in the 70’s with 55mph speed limit and me and my brother getting fidgety in the back seat.
