TRS Event Ford Ranger 40th Anniversary - Truck Nationals - Carlisle PA

That's why you were picked for the job. Imagine if a lesser driver had that task.
Besides the fact that I wholeheartedly volunteered.

The whole trip was great. I really enjoyed the show. Also enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with some I haven't seen since Southington a few years ago.

My ugly beast of a truck held up great. 1334 miles driven. 11.5mpg average for the whole trip. Averaged 10.4mpg towing TRS-2 southward. Best mileage recorded was 17.65 not towung. Worst was 10.3mpg towing. In my opinion, not bad for a 7.3l powerstroke with 271,000 miles on the odometer.

Who had the orange Bronco II?

If Rick had entered into the judged field he would have one some kind of award.
There was constantly people drooling over it.
All three of the class winners in Compact Truck were Rangers. First Place was the blue truck I posted earlier.

I think I got names with all the vehicles in our group, along with one or more photos of each. I'll try to get my video done this week. But I'm also arranging about 3 different surprise parties for my mom's 80th birthday this coming weekend.

After a certain point is the surprise kinda surprised out?

Here's the list I have. Just basics on each one in our area. Anyone who can fill in missing info, let me know so I can caption photos properly when I edit my video. I can get some info from user profiles.

I'm infamous for forgetting. Besides, one is a family event. One is a small group of church friends. And then a friend from Florida is coming to visit. None of the schedules or locations could be combined. And, to top it off, I'm going to try cake decorating for the first time.

@JohnnyO What did you do to my steering wheel? It's crooked.

@Uncle Gump I thought I had read somewhere that Ford was bringing the Raptor to the Truck Nationals. I guess I was wrong.

Was this show more 2wd than 4wd?

I stopped at a hotel just south of Little Rock Arkansas for the night. I got about another 7-hours of driving left before I get home.

It seemed to be more 4X4 but there was a good number of RWD trucks. There were a lot of Bro Dozers/Mall Crawlers and a good number of dropped trucks on air bags. But over all, I don’t think the mix was bad. There was something for everyone. Small trucks had a presence but there was a lot more “real trucks”. Mid sized seemed to be pretty much nonexistent there were some but I doubt you would have had to use more than 10 fingers to count them.

I didn’t know if it could make it that far before it fell apart

I would say more 4x4s, but still more on road than offroad. More than half were diesels. There was even a lowered Cyber Orange Maverick. There was the largest gathering of Syclones and Typhoons I’ve ever seen. If it was a truck, it was there.

So when I left, I went up by the George Washington Bridge, by my brother, three hours, overnight there, and then I headed down to my son a couple hours south of him. The adventure never ends….

Uh oh….

Bearing spun. I’m back on the road, I’ll let you know what happen when I get home, hopefully tonight. Just leaving Pennsylvania now.
