Ford 302/347 eating thrust bearings.


While the engine is out I would bolt the converter and bell housing up and spin it around a few times, make sure the whole thing is spinning true.

I have never seen a C4 do this, but I have heard of A4LD bell housings warping and causing all sorts of problems, damaging converter seals, rear mains, I could see a thrust bearing being affected if conditions were right.
 
302 (347) thrust bearing issues

Talked with TCI and they are having me send in the Flexplate. According to them, the welded ring gear shouldn't be that off. I'm also sending in the crank for re-reinspection. I'll let you guys know what the verdict is. Happy New Year!:beer:
