Yeah, been there many times myself..
Haven't we all? I'd like to spend enough to get around 275 horses, but I'd also like the motor to last if ya know what I mean.

Since the cam in these is easy to change, less than 2 hours, I'd say to start with a '89-'94 Ranger roller cam and get the thing running first. While your at it do the DIS conversion and toss the distributor in the dustbin where it belongs.
Can I use the DIS of the same ranger? I don't know a lot about these 2.3's, I'm a V-8 guy, but one won't fit

I'm guessing that car will weigh in at about 2800-3000#, I should think 25psi would do you very nicely.
25 psi, ok sounds good, but the car will weigh in at more around 1800.......
