My 2008 Regular Cab 2.3L will be arriving in a couple days and I was thinking I might need fog lights at some point.

Can I just buy the lights and plug them in or do I need to wire them all the way to the electrical system and maybe even need a switch in the dashboard?

That depends, does the factory only use one harness for these trucks? i.e., are the connections there regardless of whether or not the accessory is there or not? If the pigtails are there, then I would think it be as easy as putting a factory switch and lights in.

I know my old 92 Ranger had at least one connection that wasn't used on my truck.

That's what I was curious about... I guess I'll have to look on the truck when I get it.

Fords pretty good about that stuff.

My '89 Mustang LX had the plugs for power seats under the carpet. Also had the wires ran all the way into the doors for the optional door speakers.
