Fog lights not working

I bought some new fog light bulbs to put in my 2004 Ford Ranger but they didnt work for maybe 2 minutes so I put my stock bulbs back in now they dont work either Have checked the fuse and relay and so far all is good But still no fog lights The indicator light on the switch inside dont come on either Any ideas ? PLEASE!!!

Fog lights in these only come on when you have the low beams on, IIRC

Have you check to see if there is power to the connector? If not push in on the wires to see if that works. I had a fog light go bad and it ended up being a broken wire inside the insulation inside the connector. It was a clean cut and I don't know how it could have happened that way. I am wondering if something they did when they assembled the connector created a stress that weakened the wire.

It lasted for 16 years and then quit. The fog light would light up if I pushed in on the wire but would go out again if I let up.

The fog lamp circuit is powered thru the headlight switch, remove the entire radio panel and you'll get access to the fog lamp switch. Use a light tester to check for current at the switch with & without the headlamps on. Take it from there.

fuse 15 , 15amps, is power to lamps. it also lights the indicator in the switch, but it does not go thru the contacts in the switch.

fuse 8, 10amps goes across the contacts in the switch, which if closed energizes the relay which turns the lamps on.



fuse 15 -> relay contacts -> splice -> both fog lamps & indicator in switch.

headlamp Maxi fuse 11, 20amps -> main light switch(head lamp must be on) -> multi-switch (pass/low/ only) -> splice -> (goes to 2 fuses, F4 is left headlamp low) F8, 10 amp -> another splice (one tail goes to right headlamp low) other tail goes to coil in relay (fog lamp) -> to fog lamp switch -> ground.

get all that?

i have a 2011 Sport there is no #15 fuse in place i checked #8-ohms says it's good also 48A-B are good as is #31. I checked ohms at light connection-good then did a volt check-no power so where or what else is or could be the problem?
