I dont have any foglights installed but i notice that there is a hanging connector behind where the foglight should go.

What will this connector connect to. i am starting to look for some foglights for my truck. I know they aren't the same shape as those for the Rangers, but what will fit in the foglight cutout and still connect to the free connector behind it?

:icon_confused:

I'll take pictures tomorrow in the day to support what im asking but any help is welcomed. :icon_cheers:

your best bet is to ask at the dealership what you need to get.

If you have those comnectors, you may be prewired for foglights.

Here is what I got for my 99 Ranger that was prewired for foglights:

OEM left and right foglight new - ebay
OEM foglight lower valance new - ebay (does not fit quite right)
OEM foglight switch used - ebay
Wires from lights to plugs mounted to frame used - junkyard
2 relays (same part # as horn relay) new - Oreilly's
radio Bezel to accept OEM foglight switch used - junkyard

I actually bought a few bezels and went with the one that looked the best. I got one bezel and switch off eBay, the rest were from the junkyard.

The bezel I ended up using was actually from an Explorer. I had to swap over all the switches from my bezel, the 2WD/4Hi/4LO indicator (since the Explorer had a differnt 4wd system), and had to pull out the rear wiper switch (and paint it's indicator) and replace with the power socket. Only thing is that I ended up with a non functional rear defrost button.

You can ask the stealership, but whatever you do DONT buy from them... theres MANY better and cheaper sources.

walmarts ur new best friend :icon_thumby: ..and if u dont like them, put them in the box and return them (they'll take ANYTHING back)

but how do you mount and wire these without it being a rigged job?

Provided you are prewired for foglights, Go to a junkyard and get the connectors that go from the OEM fog lights to the connection behind the headlight. Cut off the end on the fog light end and wire it into your aftermarket lights. Then get all the other applicible parts I listed above

.

My friend works in the parts department of a local Ford stealership, I'm going to see what all Ford says it requires and bring back some more feedback. My truck is a Mazda so it's a different fog light, i'll have to see if i can get the Mazda style through the Ford dealership. If my friend offers a good price ill take it otherwise ill hit the junkyard.
