Hopefully someone with more experience answers. However, until then I'll relay my experience with a m5od-r2. It got locked into gear so I couldn't shift. After some searching I found that after removing the shifter and looking down into the hole, everything down there is supposed to be a mirror image of each other from side to side and the shifter end should be centered when installed. That should be neutral.
Hope that helps,

Richard

I think you slid it into gear when removing/installing your shifter, and now it's out of place. Pull your shifter out and recheck it.
