my flywheel bolts recently loosened up, and backed out and hit my clutch plate, yea so my plan is to use red thread locker and torque the bolts down and then put two spot welds on each bolt to eliminate the possibility of them coming loose again. if i even take it off i can just chisel through the weld. will the welds through off the balance of the flywheel?

red or even blue loctite will be sufficient, and it's tach welds, not spot welds...

to get the loctite to work better, the bolts and holes need to be clean, use a wire brush and alcohol or something on the stock bolts or get new ones, and running a tap through the holes would help...

Are the holes in the flywheel bolt holes wallowed out? If so, replace. This may be why the bolts backed out.

If the holes are good, as suggested clean all threads of oil and debris.

Use lock washers behind the bolts, not the spring type but cog type. Don't go cheap on the washers as the cheap ones have no temper.

Use Lock-tite, and torque. You should be ok.

Spot welding isn't a good idea. They will possibly crack from the flexing plus being a bitch if you have to remove them. Socket won't go over the head. Before I went this route, I would buy bolts with holes in the heads so you can wire them in place a-la aircraft applications.:)shady

Lol locktight will do fine.
Id check the flywheel out pretty good a single wallered hole could cause a major issue and it could be warped causing it to come loose. Thats not normal. I would take it to a shop and get them to clean it up and check it just in case its only like $30 at the right place.
A tach weld can throw the crank off balance and im sure you know what that means. (Rods are stronger then cast iron blocks)
