Flip kit installed-now one corner lower.....

They are identical, the spring will work. Leaf springs don't care if they are on the driver or passenger side. Only thing that can change is if you install the spring backsards, and that's only if the alignment pin isn't centered on the spring (don't know if it is or not on rangers). I can't say if it'll correct the problem though. Certainly worth a shot if you can get the spring cheaply enough. One thing to keep in mind is that if it does fix the problem over time the "new" spring will sag same as the old one.

My F-150 has air bags added to the leafs. The air lines are plumbed up separately with a schrader valve on the bumper for each side. I wish there was a crossover line with a valve, so I can open that valve to even out the pressure, then close it before driving. I hardly ever use them though.

Maybe if this guy were to put an air bag kit on it, and just run it with 2 or 3 pounds in the left side. Low riders need some kind of air or hydraulic system anyway, in case they want to haul a couple bags of groceries without the bottom scraping on the ground.

That works....I removed the standard shocks at 160,000 and installed NAPA adjustable air shocks on all 4 wheels...when I haul loads, I can pump up the rear shocks to level the truck out....on rough roads I can pump up all 4 shocks...but I still didn't install the air gauge fill/dump cluster yet....I've got 4 independent schrader valves run under the dash for quick fills with my 12volt air pump....

I've been thinking about converting my 4x8 utility trailer over to air ride.

I want an air bag system on my ranger. I might take the ones off my worthless automatic trans F-150 before I push it off a cliff, and put them on my ranger, if they'll fit. So I'd have an onboard air system on the tow vehicle. I can just run a hose to the trailer.

I'm sick of my trailer getting airborne all the time on bumps when it's empty. The purpose of air ride on 18 wheelers is to make them ride softer when they're empty. It's the same reason I want them on my utility trailer.

a quick call to a parts store would be better suited to see if there is a difference in part numbers for left and right side, but to my knowledge there is no difference. I believe they are symmetrical.

Depends on which auto parts store you call. If you call the Autozone in Kankakee, IL, you're likely to hear a bunch of typing and then "duhh.... we have one for a 2003 Silverado, will that work?"

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahhhaahhahhahahaaaaaaaaa !

called the local junkyard

They charge $65 for a pair(will only sell in pairs), and they take them off the donor for me. Gonna pick up a pair this week and see what happens this weekend.

Cool. Sounds like a plan. But until then, can we continue to speculate and suggest stupid things like turning the truck around in the driveway or checking under the tonneau cover for a 150 lb object on the left side? :icon_rofl:

turn the truck around......that's about the stupi...........uhhhhhhhhhhhhh........

never mind........ :icon_bounceblue:

just take and put an add-a-leaf in it on one side if your new springs dont help. thats my suggestion

add a leaf

Every add a leaf kit I have seen raises up by 1.5-2.0 inches. Then I would have the same problem, just different sides.

well ur talkin about buyin a set of srpings go to a parts store get you a new center bolt for the leaf spring and take the spring pack apart that you are buying or if you swap them in and it is still same problem take the pack apart on your old ones and cut a leaf down to where it staggers into with the other leafs and build you own addaleaf thats all it is to it. was it level before you flipped it? if so try swappin the fkipkit on the sides it may b an immperfection in your kit jst thwoing out a possibility

Good idea....

It seemed to sit level before, but then again I forgot to measure before I installed the flip kit. Then again it was about 102 degrees that day..details are still a bit fuzzy.

I gotta button up the other project (installing 2007 Mustang GT seats), then I will swap sides for the flip kit bracket this weekend and see if that does anything different.

Thanks for the suggestion.
