I found a set of 30x9.50's for my ranger and couldn't pass up the deal, but it was too good of deal I guess. The tires are Wild Country XTX and have hardly no miles on them. I got them home last night and then while rolling them into the garage, I noticed flat spots from sitting. I went ahead and got them mounted and during the balancing saw quite a bit of hop in 2 tires more than the other 2. They must have been on the front of whatever truck they were on. My question is, how can I get them to smooth out other than doing burnouts? The temps here in Oregon are still around 50, so getting the tires hot will be a wait. If I lower the air pressure down to say 20 psi, will that work out the hop or should I not waste my time with these?

When I worked at the tire shop we told people to lower the air to 20 psi to help warm the tires up and work out the flat spots.

Grants Pass ehh? A small group of us are goin up Johns Peak on the 19th if ya wanna go.

Just put 30 to 35 psi in them and drive. The flat spots will round out pretty quick.
I had XTX's on my old Ranger and liked them a lot.

Well, they've been on now for a month and still have a bad hop to them. I tried air pressure up to 40psi and down to 20psi and still not much change except they rode harder at 40 and dragged way too much at 20. I even towed the boat 40 miles up to the lake on a hot day with 28psi in them. Still going thumpity thump. Maybe they're a lost cause and I should try to get Les take them as a trade in. They've still got a lot of tread depth, close to new.
