My friend has an 87 2.9L ranger and It was fixed(with a hammer and wire cutters it looks like) last time. The truck won't stay running with the clutch in and coasting the idle is erratic and when it is relatively warm it feels like it is trying to bang my head on the windshield and back window it hesitates so much. Also when my head is bangin around:icon_bounceblue: the engine is backfiring through the intake. There is a massive lack of power too when he starts off from a stop. please help with some detailed pictures of the engine compartment and vacuum diagrams if there are any.

so my buddy got back from iraq and he had a spur of the moment idea to crack open the t-chain cover and hey look at that the chain doesn't line up.....i thought he checked it when he pulled the engine...oh well. so maybe i can get him to put pix of it up here soon doin more than posing as a driveway ornament.
