Hi guys,i'm new here.
Finally fixed a problem,bugging me since i bought it at 45K.
Brakes,on,rear end shakeing.Had roters turned, new U/L ball joints,alignment,at 85K.Was OK for awhile.At 90/93,K,getting worse.
I now have a good,mechanic.New rotors,ceramic pads,inner/outer,tie rods,with nipples,alignment.About $450 labor@parts included.
Rides like a new truck,BRAKES like a new truck.

Congratulations on the improvements.

My only comment is the brakes are very easy to do on these trucks (most vehicles, actually) but alignment and replacing front end part is not so easy without proper equipment and knowledge.

Good that you found a mechanic to do the work for you and the price sounds fair for labour on that amount of work (most charge $50-100 per hour) since all of that could be done in a few hours.

Ford Rangers are one of the easiest vehicles I've ever worked on due to their height, and access to parts in most cases. The only things I've found that require a bit more work are changing the transmission fluid and replacing in-tank fuel pumps.

But even those are easy with the right tools and equipment like hoists or ramps.

The new ride feel should last a long time too...keep the air pressure up in the tires and short of anything unusual happening the front end and brakes will last two to five years with no problems...or longer depending on how you drive and following regular maintenance.

I've had F-150,s,and a F-250 in the past,and used to do all my brake work.
Old guy here,with COPD,can't do it anymore.My mechanic did inner@outer tie rods,which
i've never done before.I wish i could.
I think the tie rods were faulty,day 1.None of my other ford trucks had tie rod issues.
But i still love my Ranger

Your `06 has rear discs? is 4x4

No,i do not have rear disk brakes.i have drums@shoes.
Mine is a 2 wheel drive,4x2.Automatic.
