I'm happy today. A new Five Guys opened up in Machester, NH last week. I tried them today and HOLY COW!!!!

I've burgers and fries from Newburport, MA to Newport Beach, CA, and 5 Guys kills 'em all, including (and this may be blasphamy to some SoCal Rangerheads) IN-N-OUT!

Their fries are so good, I have 'em for my last meal if I was on death row.

Of course, a close second is a joint called Flat Patties in Cambridge, MA (not far from Hahvard Yahd :D ).

I have been meaning to try them out, thanks for the review

When I walked in, they had 50 LB sacks of REAL potatoes AND jugs of PEANUT oil behind the counter, and being USED!!!

Finally a chain that makes stuff the RIGHT WAY!!!!

Five Guys burger and fries rocks!!! The only other place I've had a better store bought burger is a little place here called minute man (It used to be a chain back in the 60's and 70's around TN and AR ) Real charcoal grilled burgers (not like that flame broiled burger king crap!)

I like Runza about the best of a restaurant type place. Sonic and Don and Millie's is good too though.

I have yet to meet a rival for my charcoal grilled burgers though (or steaks for that matter)

Five guys is good. Their burgers aren't as good as Jake's but their fries are better.

However Hardees is still my favorite. Almost as good as Jakes and Five guys, but they have a drive through and that DELICIOUS tea. It's just a shame the nearest one is 20 minutes south of me.

there's a five guys that just opened in toledo, i hear its amazing. i guess its normal for there to be an hour long wait during lunch time. i havent been there yet but i would like to...

Red Robin is the best hear in IN franchise wise. I am pretty sure that there are several Mom and Pop restaurants that are damn good. My favorite Mom and Pop place is Clayton Cafe which was voted number 5 in best local restaurants in IN. Their meatloaf manhattan is sooooo damn good.

5 guys is good for it being a chain. mom and pop places are always gonna be better and nothing can touch homemade grilled hamburgers....if you disagree you need to have your grill taken from you.

there was a news release on them not too long ago...they have the worst fries in america. the regular fry alone has over 1400 calories!!! But i have eaten here and there food is GOOD!!!

You won't get any argument out of me on that. I think IN-N-OUT's burgers are mediocre at best, and their fries are just gross (they're always completely hard and dry and bland:bad: ).

Never seen a "Five Guys" out here... I wonder how they'd stack up against "Fatburger"... They're all about the unfrozen meat, real ingredients and real ice-cream milkshakes made-right-there too. Red Robin makes a pretty darn good burger too. (all this talk about burgers is making me hungry. Off to the kitchen :icon_twisted: )

I've been in a number of burger joints....

5-guys is tops. Wish there was one local, I got to eat there and at a place called are-you-hungry when I'd take my bro to college or bring him home (he graduated last year).

One word of warning for 5-guys.... if you're allergic to peanuts... stay away unless you wish to commit suicide, lol. I love their burgers and usually go for the cajun fries.

As far as the are-you-hungry goes... I can hear my arteries clogging just thinking about it... but it's oh soooo good! They'll throw everything including the kitchen sink on a sub. And you get the thrill of ordering things such as the "Fat Bastard" sub and "Ecstasy Fries"

IMHO, Red Robin is horribly overpriced for what you get. The whole $15 for a burger and fries are an extra few bucks is absurd. And I don't think it tasted as good as getting a $6 burger, fries, and drink from BK. I'll never go back there willingly, I'd rather go across the parking lot from the local one to Chick-Fil-A.
