i was wondering if new mirrors and headlights could fit onto a 98 no problems..i know the headlight assembly is different on the newer ones, with the signal light inside the headlight..but the shape of it looks about the same. i hate the way my headlights perform even with aftermarket bulbs, also the side mirrors. thanks

All the mirrors are pretty much the same up until 2006. What did you have in mind?

no im saying, my 98 rangers mirrors look different than yours, and the ones in the instructions...i dont beleive those are power mirrors in the instructions, mine are power mirriors and would i srtill be able to keep them power?

Ya mine are the flag non power ones and the ones in the instructions aren't power either. But you could still do a swap and keep them power just need to rewire them

i have a 98 also with the flag mirrors, but could i bolt on 98-00 xlt power mirrors and not use them as powered?

Ya I don't see why not. You might have to rip all the wires out of the power mirror.

Cool i'll just do that, i was just making sure that they would fit the same, cuz i really dont wanna drill a hole to make the newer ones fit.

Spray paint. You can buy a black grille but its easier and cheaper to just spray paint. And I tried to take the grille off and Idk how to without breaking it

i don't think you will be able to adjust them and keep them adjusted without power, the power mirrors werent designed to be manual adjusted, if you take the glass off one ( or broke one) you will see that the glass part of the mirror has threaded studs on it, and the body of the mirror has threaded holes, and they spin to make the adjustment

i do alot of highway driving, wouldent things like rocks, bugs etc chip away the paint? and how well did it cover up the chrome?

It should be fine if you do everything right. Do good prep work and put finish on. I painted mine about 3 months ago and the only problem is sun and weather is fading it but I never put finish on it. I don't know why lol. I didn't have Chrome before. Mine was grey. Chrome is a lot harder to paint you'd have to sand a lot. If you have a power sander that would help a lot. It would almost be worth it to buy a black grille and bumper though. You could buy a nice black like 2002 or so bumper and put It on.
