Fish bites

I had no idea where else to post this... I have been working on cars for over 30 years and I've never heard the term "fish bites" until this here internet started saying it recently. WHAT THE HEAK DOES FISH BITES MEAN!

I tried google and got pics of people trying to lip walleye.

My guess is when your trying to sell a car....the car is bait and perspective buyers are fish biteing at the bait.

I love these expressions. I remember we had this girl looking for a bucket of steam for like 20 minutes lol. She was asking people where it was and looking all over. Striped paint is a new one to me. I've heard wood-welders, left handed hammers, and wall stretchers lol.
