I've owned quite a few F-150s and still have one but I bought a Ranger to use in the woods and to keep some miles off of my new truck. 1997 XLT 4x4

Nice truck. Welcome to TRS

Welcome to trs, nice Ranger! Plans on upgrades?

Some folks would say you have the last of the good ones.

There are several articles in the Tech Library that will get you lifted.

If it were mine... I would put a new set of springs up front and good shocks all the way around on a set of 31x10.50x15's and enjoy it.

Lifts can be speedy...

That’s pretty much the plan right now Rough Country has a set of springs for $120

Yeah torsion bars suck!! Remember to get alignment! Also when you lift or lower a ranger it changes your track width.. you'll need some spacers to get it back to factory width. I think 3 mil. Worked for my gen 2 ranger but I'm not sure about 3rd gen.. measure before install(A)and after alignment(B) then (A-B)÷2 for your spacer size. That equation only for lifting!
