Hi to everyone. I just bought my first ranger this weekend it's a 92 ranger xlt 5 speed. Needs clutch put in and a driveshaft. After searching the forum for a wile I came across the one piece driveshaft swop from a 98 or newer ranger 4x4 extended cab.

Would this work for my truck. Mien is a regular cab' 7 foot box. I think it's the 114 wheel base. Going to the junk yard this weekend to see if they have one. Thanks damien

Only if the donor is a long bed (7'), extended cab long bed wasn't an option, and extended cab short bed is a different wheelbase than what you have thus different driveshaft length than what you have

What would be my options than, I know I could have one made but that's more than I can spend now, i would like a one pice but to get the truck driving I could look for a direct replacement. Could I get a steel one like the swop mentions and cut it and tig weld it to fit, and than harden it.

If you can afford it buy a new one ready to blot on. You can Google it and there are a few places that sell one piece drive shafts.

or have local drive shaft shop build 1 for you

Hey guys was at a local junk yard today and found an 88 reg. cab 7 foot box ranger it was a 4 wheel dive 5 speed. I took my old drive shaft and compared it and it looks identical in length and size. This should fit my truck right? Only difference is my truck is a 92 ranger.

A long bed already has a one piece drive shaft. Only extended cabs had 2 piece w/ carrier bearing drive shafts..

Both my trucks are long beds so I would know haha
