first ranger

So this is my first ranger but not my first ford. My first vehicle I owned was a 1991 explorer then I also owned a 1989 bronco II. My other vehicle I own is a 1989 Toyota Cressida with a 2jzgte that was a fun project. Now on to the ranger its a 1983 ford ranger xl with 2.3l I bought it from my gf's great uncle. he was the only owner of it and def used it. Well my friend just scraped his 1992 mustang because some little shits vandalized it. so I picked up his 5.0 with harness and ecu. I also just found out my truck has the C-5 auto. So I got excited when reading the 5.0 swap and on my way to doing so I guess. Now I just need a cheap build not looking to do anything to crazy already have a car that eats money just want to put motor in and keep it a nice daily...so im gonna list parts that I will purchase and tell me what im missing or if it will not work ... also how hard is it to put an efi motor in or should I just go carbureted.


so parts I think I will need

mustang convertible motor mounts
oil filter relocation kit
the motor has shorty headers but pretty sure I cant use
stock 4.0 radiator
bell housing, 50lb flex plate

that should get me started I think for now any other info would be great. I do not wanna start this project till I have a complete list of exactly what I need and purchase them. Thanks for any help guys

Do you think the 4.0 ranger radiator will be sufficient
