at least thats what F.O.R.D used to stand for!

i wanna keep from having the found on road dead from happening...thats why i am here.
i sold my F350 7.3 because the economy is rough and downsizing made sense-no longer needed Brutus for work because Construction has not recovered in Michigan yet-so i sold and then bought a 99 Ranger XLT 4x4 3.0 v6 manual workhorse.
it has a few problems...
EGR is error coding clogged/not working
misfire in cylinder #6
and a whirring vibration that is either the oversize tires-rear differential is going bad or any other suggestions?
hope to learn a lot go easy on the newkid

Ford forever

Funny, I just recently bought a 4dr, 4x4 F350 long bed with a 7.3 diesel. People think differently. Calling the 3.0 a workhorse is .... questionable.

Do a tune up, including plugs & wires, fuel and air filters, PCV, and any other thing you think of. Use the autolite platinum plugs. Then see if the #6 is misfiring.
Check the ujoints on the whirring sound. Grease them or replace if needed. If it is the differential, you have bigger problems than I can help with. Tires, you live with or buy replacements.
