so i finally got my first little bit of stuff done! not really anything big though!

i put on a bug deflector, some window visors and installed seat heaters! (christmas present....SICK)

pretty big job on the seat heaters though!

had to pull the seats out, pull back all the leather, put the heater coil things in place and tape them down, then run the wires under the seat to harnesses, then run the wires through with the rest of the factory wires through this little rubber tube (PITA)!

put a nice little fuse in the compartment, mounted 2 switches (one for each seat obviously) and voila! warm seats!!

if anyone wants to see pics of the little job just let me know and i can post a few!

arite here we go!

this is just after the seat was pulled

had to pull out 4 bolts here to get the bottom part of the seat loose enough to work on

some of the leather pulled back and thats the coil on top of the pads

the top of the chair was okay to pull off, but the bottom was a pain because it had hog rings!

drilled a whole with a 5/8 spade, then used a little grinder i had to make the whole bigger, to about 3/4 and popped her in!

thats pretty cool. i like were you mounted your switches. nice work

sweet!
thinking about putting some in the wifes ride.

seeing how I have an upholstery business on the side, I must say hog rings are the biggest pain in the ass. Cool deal on the heated seats! Glad my car came with them from the factory haha.

thanks!
Yea unfortunately i dont even think they offer heated seats as an option in the ranger! As for the hog rings, i hate them...but this job wasnt as bad as last years, me and my dad decided to redo all the leather in our 67 camaro, there were about 100 hog rings, we just decided to cut them all out, and just buy new ones, but it still took forever!

next up im thinking of either painting my headlights like rwenzig did (i think thats how you spell it) or getting a bull bar

ill keep you posted

Did you remove the entire leather? When i did mine it was just holding with the velcro on each side, samething on the backrest two slice of velcro on each side but i didnt remove it completely so i had trouble passing the wiring on the rear of the seat.

i rolled back the leather on the top half of the heats, on the bottom half i kinda peeled it sideways, did that by removing the hog rings on one side of the bottom seat
