Kind of an obscure thing to know what is even out there and I have been collecting it for awhile. Pretty interesting to browse thru, if anybody else has any post it up. If you have other generation start your own thread to keep it kind of organized and keep this post First Generation (1983 thru 1988)

To start off, "The Western States Ford Ranger", basically information on the Ranger and how to sell it.

Not sure I have ever heard of an STX in '85, kinda cool that it started out out west. I give it a full :icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:, nice color, nice pictures, neat glimpse into the past and a little bit of behind the scenes too.

Wow that's really cool. I didn't know Alaska was even a state all the way back in 1985...

I didn't either... in 1985.

This is a looseleaf booklet to update dealers on some of the features of the "new" 1985 Ranger and what changed from '84.

Awesome piece. Nice color pictures and base part numbers provided. Also note this is for the entire Ford lineup and there is almost always at least one RBV per page, often more. I don't think that would be the case today :icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

Basically a 103 page Chilton's from Ford on how to do basic repairs to your truck and excellant specs/capacity charts. Really IMO something like this should ship in every glovebox. :icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

1985 Towing and RV Guide (only showing RBV pages, if you want to look at Aerostar crap go buy your own :icon_twisted:)

Neat pictures, not much meat an taters though. While researching how to put a slide in camper in my truck the owners manual said to refer to this for more information. Trying to figure out what was inncluded in the "camper package" I snagged this and it offered nothing. I eventually had the stupid idea to check the sales brochure I bought in college (15 years ago) and found a breakdown there. Its neat but I probably wouldn't buy again. :icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

1987 Accessory Catalog
For entire Ford lineup, much more extensive than '85 and is broken down into chapters. Only showing the "Light Truck" section

Any, fantastic and very informative, they have a section on Mustangs and tbirds for foxbody fans too. Only black and white pictures but can't complain too much with full part numbers... and FACTORY FIRST GEN WINCH BUMPER!?!?!?

Has anybody ever seen such a thing? Pics would be awesome...

And I found a 1985 Hildy's. From the description it is basically an aftermarket accessory catalog for Ford dealers, sounds pretty cool right?

And that is in for RBV stuff. Big letdown, no warn, no daylighter nothing really offroad oriented for pickups. Lots of stuff for commercial trucks and vans though. There are a couple neat old ads though:

I give it one :icon_thumby:

My next find is a pocket guide for dealers. Not sure if it is actually Ford or not, no part number on it. It has the prices for the base model truck and most accessories. It is kind of small (hence pocket guide) and had a good spine I didn't want to totally destroy mashing it flat which made it hard to photograph.

Neat little book, I haven't seen anything else that explains all the packages so plainly. :icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

those are cool. thanks for sharing this. I wonder how many of those gun safes are out there? that is pretty sweet I must say.

cheers

I wonder If there are any "Eastern" Ranger Brochures out there. I love the accessories that were available back then. DIY stripe kits, Come ON! man. My '83 Ranger had a stripe kit like the White Ranger w/Red stripes, but mine was Brown w/tan stripes.
Very Kool stuff in these brochures.

I kinda doubt it, from the sounds of things west coast is a huge market compared to everywhere else.

I actually snagged a west coast '85 sales brochure I need to scan. Different than the normal' 85 brochure, it has a white STX on the cover instead of the usual red and white XLT.

Interesting. I also noticed an XLS trim and no (STX) in the pamphlet, but no mention of it in the "sales" brochure. {post #4}
