Anyone know of a company that makes reproduction firewall panels for the 1990 ranger? I need one as a template to make an aluminum firewall.

gary like i said, you can have the one from my 88 for that deal we had if i gave you one, but ya know, all that time drilling spot welds will require some motivation..

:D

I'm all for it, just I would prefer to find a brand new one. It would make the transfer process soooo much easier.

yup sure would. did you try nlclassifieds? could be someone there parting out a ranger and would be willing to drill out the firewall, if its closer to me i would pick it up for you

if you've already got the truck it's going into a tape measure and notepad will give you all the info you need.

I couldn't agree more with gwaii.
To me it seems like a waste of time and or money to get a firewall just for a template. You can even make a template out of cardboard, make it custom to your own needs etc.

well hes a couple thousand kms away from his truck now . and he has more money than brains! haha j.k

Hahaha, funny Jeff.

The reason I want an actual firewall is so that I can make it an exact fit. I've made firewalls before, it's not overly difficult. But with 2.5 hours a day and a full aircraft sheet metal shop at my disposal, I think it would be awesome to make a replacement aluminum panel.

hey, i think an aluminum firewall would look cool on the b2:)

Is the firewall on your B2 the same as the firewall on a ranger? I know the front end is the same... Only goes to reason they would be right?

Hmmm... OK. One of these days I'll draw out my template for the firewall. I'll even rivet it with solid rivets, just like we do on our airplanes.:)

if you make one, why not make 2? and sell the other one? to someone with an 89 BII?

Or work out a suitable trade:)
