So i have been wondering how many TRS members are also Firefighters. Thinking maybe members could go and post a lil bout were there from and what they do eg if there a volly or paid things like that.

well me I'm a volly on the Solway Volunteer Fire Dept. been there for about 4 years. its a pretty slow area we get about maybe 50 calls a yrs at a peak. I also work for the Minnesota Dept. of natural resources as a wild land firefighter been there for 4 years. its alot more action in a shorter season. but thats me so lets hear it from you guys.

i'm a volunteer fire fighter in venango county,pa.i've been in the fire/med service for 22 years now.
i run in a dept that has 1 pumper,1 tanker,1 pumper/tanker combo.,1 brush unit,1 heavy rescue, a boat, and 2 amblances.last year we had 465 calls .:icon_surprised: the dept currently has 20 active members and around 15-20 social members. i'm an emt/firefighter and am currently taking classes for dncr's Community Wildfire Protection{better known as your average brush fire}and currently hold the position of caption

yeah we dont run ems at all on my dept. im the first in my family. i do the respond outta my truck too but my states laws dont give us any lights at all that we can use to any effect

and as far as trucks we have 2 pumpers 3 tankers and 2 brush rigs. and well the DNR we have a Sh*t ton of brush rigs

well in new york the blue light is a courtesy light , people do not have to pull over and you have to maintain the speed limit , but if your truck is parked at the scene and the blue light is going and someone crashes into it , the state will cover the damage

our department has 1 tanker , 1 pumper , 1 rescue pumper , 1 rescue truck , 1 brush truck , and we have a boat

the brush truck triples as a brush truck , boat tower and plow truck for our parking lot

that would be nice.
