Firefighters

West Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Kalispell Montana.

Cadet Fireman(under 18) can only participate in summer due to way overloading myself during the school year.

Been a member one summer. And actually they told me that I need to wait till I'm 18 to come back because of insurance reasons. There are rules when your under 18, a couple examples: no entering structure fires, must leave if death is inevitable due to mental health, Not supposed to use defibrulators.

I have violated all three more than once, But, In my defense, I have been de-sensitized to people around me dying in my presence since I was little, I carried a handicapped man out of his house when his entrence collapsed and my crew and EMT's was tending to the 6 other occupants, and I used the defibrulators because we were short-handed working the local racetrack.

never forgotten i plan on my first tattoo to be in remembrance of all our fallen brothers from the 343 to the Charleston 8 and every other who has and will give there life so that others may live.

im currently going to school for EMT-B and after that going to try and get on with the fire department. been trying to get on as a volunteer but havent had any luck lately.

EMT-B is a good thing to have if you plan on getting on a career paid dept as well. its often required as one of the basics to have just to join.

An excellent resource there. I have not been to it myself, but have a lot of excellent things about it.

A note for everyone - if anyone is in need of training resources PM me a request for a topic you need information or resources on and I will see what I got in my training stash. I have various Firefighting, Rescue and Hazardous Materials resources such as powerpoints and photos. I will SHARE this with you - no sales here LOL.

Also all you firefighters need to sign up at http://www.firelink.com/ - like myspace for firefighters - check it out and let me know if you sign up - here is my page: http://www.firelink.com/member/hzmtrsq I will add you to my network.

Keep it safe out there brothers . . . :icon_thumby:
