i found out that it is leaking oil on to the the down pipes, the valve cover gaskets only have roughly 2k on them and the covers are tight and are not leaking, the truck wont start at all the fire did something and the truck will turn over but doesnt wanna start. i figured this would be a good time to go 4.0 not just cause the fire but because going up a hill with a carbed motor isnt good my truck dies and i have to reverse all the way back down and sit for half hour till it wants to start. i am now looking at spaldings auto wrecking over in spokane to see if i can find a tranny, motor, and wiring harness. now the things i need to know is, is a 94 exploder a good donor? can the transfer case on my 84 b2 work on a standard tranny that is on said exploder? and yes i am gonna pull the whole wiring harness from the exploder and put it in the b2.

I'm pretty sure the 94 will be useable. d-35 and 8.8. motor, trans, and your transfer will fit. It's best to have both side by side when doing the swap. Use a digital camera and take pics on the highest setting, as you can zoom in on the pic if you forget something. There will be splicing of wires so learn how to solder properly. You can fit the expo fuel pump in the stock b-2 tank with a little filing.

i have a soldering iron and know how to solder. now y would i have to splice the wires if im taking the 4.0 wiring harness and all that?

Well, I suppose you could strip out the whole expo wiring harness including lights and dash. Most do some splicing. I'm not an expert. RangerSVT, along with many others, comes to mind for expert advice.

well i hope they chime in on this cause i need all the help i can get, i have searched alot on it last night but i know i have alot to learn in a little time cause i will be starting this when i am done with this job which is around the 5th or 6th of next month

The person I would talk to is 4.0B2 on a swap. His is probably the nicest B2 I've seen on TRS. He's not into doing hack jobs and ghetto rigging everything, so he knows the right way. If he doesn't see your thread, just PM him.
