Finally on the street

Thanks. My dad bought it brand new in 84 and he took really good care of it.

Wow. It looks showroom clean man. The engine is very well dressed too....

The ultimate sleeper!

Well done!

Great example of how to do it well.

Nice shack, too.

Next thing I need to do is get a rear end under it that can handle it. From reading the tech articles it looks like I need to fine one from a 1990-1992 ranger with a 4.0. Any input about what would be the easiest would be appreciated.

I assume you're looking for an 8.8

You are correct, they got 1.5" wider (total) in 1993. That may or may not be an issue for you.
I believe the rear driveshaft flange got larger, too. I believe the pinion flange on my 8.8 may be drilled for the larger and the smaller bolt pattern.

I believe the 8.8 would be most common in 4.0, Supercab, and/or 4x4 trucks. Should bolt in very easily, and you may get larger brakes, too.

Ya an 8.8 is what I'm looking for. Thats good to know though. I guess I'll start hitting up the junkyards pretty soon.

A 7.5 take more than a lot of people think. Ford put them in mustang gt in the 80s and i've seen them run in the high 10s on a 7.5. Nice looking 84 there weasel.

very well built gen one such a sleeper

Ya the truck got named the weasel by one of my brothers friends about 10 years ago and it just stuck.
