Finally getting round to some body work...

Looks good. Were you shooting clear over the base coat or is that just single stage? Looks like clear?

Clear is the devil in my book, nothing looks better but oh my is it easy to run. It took me a few tries to figure out that their cure time between coats was WAY too short, I started doing 1.5x what they said and got way better results. The previous coat was still almost in liquid form if I went by their data sheet.
Thank you Shran!
Yeah...no on the clear. I had enough trouble with the black :p. It is just single stage, three coats on the fenders two on the hood
I thought about clear, but I'm done for the year. Clear would have been great, but the learning curve is too steep. Plus the weather is getting colder and I've spent way too much time on this and neglected other stuff that needs to get done around here.

I've managed to safely remove the Ranger Splash tape decal from the old tailgate and want to re-apply it to the new tailgate.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the type of adhesive to use?

I bought a couple of white decals from eBay, but I'd really like to keep the original.

Thanks

Doing some more work on other areas that I will finish in warmer weather. For now I am just stripping and prepping in the barn where I can stay warm and out of harm's way (read wife's todo list and being able to listen to Lions on the radio)>
The passenger door was a pull-a-part and was stripped to bare metal and rattle-canned a bunch so I wanted to start over again. And the bumpers were in need of help. the front especially. These are things I want to keep track of and not necessarily looking for comments - however, as always your experience is always welcomed. (y)

Over the winter I will start prepping the rest of the cab and bed. I plan to pull the bed and do some frame work - need tank straps and whatever else I find, Should be entertaining. Later...r

Hey Red, thanks for the comment. I used 3M adhesive remover - many applications and wipes -and very meticulously used a single edge razor blade to slide under the liquid edges of the decal. Not kidding, it took a couple hours over a couple of days.

That's impressive!

Looking good, big guy. Keep up the good work
Thanks Lefty!
Looking forward to the next phases - pulling the bed, some frame work and cleaning up the undersides (not crazy sh*t, just clean it p, new tank straps while I'm there and anything else I see). Maybe some body mounts. I'll figure it out when I get there.
But then re paint the bed and cab before the summer is over.
Take care man.
