Good morning folks, does anyone know the fill plug size for a 99 4.0 Ranger with the 5 speed transmission? I have always used a large crescent wrench but now the plug is starting to round off a bit.

yesterday i used a 23mm socket to get the fill plug off a 85 ranger. not sure if sizes have changed over the decades, but thats what i used.

if its the original plug with a rather shallow head then its a 23mm. i have a replacement plug in one of my trucks and its a 19mm, so trial and error may be necessary, or measure it with some calipers to get the right size.
