Looking for a little information, I have decided to make custom door panels from fiberglass. I plan on using foam, gluing and layering to get the shape that I want for a plug and then glass over it, remove the foam and poof I have my panel. I am looking for what type of foam is best to use, a source for it and what would be a good weight of glass to use.

Thanks,
Louis

Hazmat Ranger,
Thanks for the inof, how many sheets of foam did you use?

Louis

I think I only had to use 1 full sheet, might have been 1.5 sheets.

I think I will do a console this way also, how hard was it to removed the plug with the tape on it?

Louis

It was not that hard, you have to cut it out. It will not come out in one piece. But the foam is easy to cut and remove in pieces. Some of the tape will stick to the cured resin or be part of it. But if you do it like mine you will never see the tape anyway.
