I have a 1997 ford ranger 2wd short bed standard cab and was wondering if i got fiberglass fenders front and back what would be the largest tire i could fit with out a lift for right now, with out rubbing issues? would a 33" fit? i can install a 2 inch cheap lift if needed. plan to upgrade suspension this winter but need tires soon...would i need spacers? .thank you for looking

Fully depends on how much room behind the tire the new fender give you, with the ones I got I could probably have ran 35's on my 4wd, easy 33's for sure.

i just got the truck so ill have to measure the rims and see if i can figure out the back spacing on them. i just dont want to buy tires now then have to get the larger ones later if i can avoid it is all. 31s i can deal with but want 33s :)

You should be able to run 33's. I kknow some fiberglass fenders have a bigger opening. It's best to probably call whoever you are getting them from first. I called the guys at polyperformance and they helped me out. I know mine would probably clear a 33 no problem if it was stock height

so the rims are basically stock they are 15*7 and 4.5" back spacing. the truck had 14" rims but last owner changed them out. ill try calling the fiberglass company as i need to know this and also shipping costs anyhow...now to find out if you can install a one piece front end and have it on hinges to lift instead of taking the hood off completely every time you need access..

That's a yes to the last question, fiverwerx offers good one piece kits but you need to buy hinges and put them on yourself. You will also need hood pins.

You can clear 33's with glass fenders. as far as the one piece goes you'll need an engine cage or something similar to mount it to and to make it hinge would be even more work and more money unless you do it yourself. I also have heard the glassworks makes better fitting fenders than fiberwerx does.

I have never used glassworks but I hear they fit nice. My fiberwerx fit nice though. I was going to do a one piece. But when I found out shipping was $500 just for the front it wasn't worth it. I would rather just drive there and make a trip out of it. And yes you can put it on hinges. That's what I was going to do and use latches and hood pins.
