So i have done some reserach and im curios about whats the best way to install a fiberglass bedside. i have seen people cut the outer skin off and put the bedside over it, i have also seen people cut the spot welds off, any thoughts, also does anybody have an experience the fiber werxs 1983-1992 conversion to 98. the truck i have has the square headlights and i know the conversion changes it to the 98 headlights any experience

Drilling out the spot welds takes more time and leaves less support for the fiberglass.

so u recomend cutting the skin off? i have seen one video on how to do it but i wold appreciate some more advice thanksmuch

That was most likely the video, just cut off where the line starts on the original bedsides. Or run it without the bed its what im going to do, im just going to make a tube bed but for now im saving up for some coilovers then doing suspension and fiberglass bedsides since i already have the front. Goodluck

Yeah that was the video. my question is is thathow u do it for any truck? So where exactly do i cut. i dont wanna **** it up and these dam things dont come with instructions.

For the best fit drill the spot welds out and use those holes to mount the bedside along the top rail. You will have to make supports at the bottom of the bedside. If you do stock replacement front fenders just drill for the factory mounting holes and bolt it on. The conversion is a bit more work. You will have to make a few custom mounts. It is easier to pin it on than to build a hinge to tilt it forward. Some require a header panel for that particular generation to mount the headlights, others you can mount lights to the fiberglass.
