Fiat 131 build

Jeez you're gonna have two builds done before I get my one finished 🤣

Looking great as always!

Ha I don't know about that! I've got at least another year on this build, if not more. But, thanks!

Some more progress

Fog lights, exhaust and dash

The fog lights are NOS Lucas, and I used the original race cars as inspiration for the dash. It's not an exact copy, but the labels and gauge placements are close/similar and it's all in italian

You should probably clear a spot for your next trophy...

Your attention to details is rarely matched.

You're making me blush

I figure if you're going to do something, do it well. Or at least try. This is the first car I have built from the ground up, and it has been challenging!

Did some upholstery work. Dash cover, seats and center arm rest. I eventually redid the arm rest without the stripe

Just took a quick spin through this thread.
Superior craftsmanship, attention to detail and great concept!
I worked for a Fiat dealership in Lynn, Ma in the mid 70s and was their only mechanic for 8 months...
I also lived in Torino, Italy for a year - home of Fiat.

I have a 1985 TVR 280i which I am dumping the entire top end and Bosch (crap injection) and installing a US top end with Holley, cam etc.
I'll post a thread soon.

Great project. Hope it is finished soon!(y)

Thanks! Did you work on many 131's back then? They are really hard to come by these days in US. I bought mine way back in 2007, and have only seen a handful on Ebay, Craigslist, Bring a trailer, etc over the past 15 years.

Your project sounds very cool, can't wait to see it!

Headlights, grill and doorpanels

Headlights are nos carello, quite hard to come by. Grill and badge are also nos, from Italy

It would look cool with LED headlights.

I have seen some cool led lights on ebay and the like, and I would go that route if I were doing a restomod of sorts, at least looks wise. I'll be using led bulbs, but I want the car to look as 1976 as I can get it, hence all the nos parts like headlights, tail lights, grill, etc
