hey guys, i need some help from u guys that own or work at an auto shop. i just rented a shop to do some side work like brakes and oil changes and mostly bmw work like intercoolers and all.

my question is, what do shops usually charge for front brakes and back brakes. i havent worked in a shop in years, last i remember fronts were 79.95 not including cutting rotors and 89 for rear drums but thats back in 1997.

i just looked at getting all the brakes replaces on my 1997 ford taurus and it was 100 for me buying the brakes or 135 with them buying the brakes

At the dealership i'm working at its 1.5 hours labour @ $90.00/hr for from pads and rotor replacment, and 2.0 hours for complete rear brake repalcement (shoes, hardware, cylinders, drums)

look at something like alldata if you know a shop that will let you peek at it.they have standard billable hours for most every job

i dont know of anyone with access to that, the shop i used to work at had a book like that, standard labor hours for each car and job, but it was pretty crazy back then, told me 3 hours for something that took like half hour, i want to make money but i want to be as fair as possible without undercharging too much, its gotta pay the shop rent lol.

flush is $179.95 for the flush (includes 10L mercon v) plus another 0.5 to drop the pan and chanege the filter.
