Another forum I'm on has a thread going for favorite holiday movies. It’s a fun discussion.

My two are probably A Christmas Story, a classic, and Hogfather, maybe a bit more obscure at least here in the states.

What are some your go-to movies for the holiday season?

The wife is a movie person... me... not so much.

She talked me into Elf a couple days ago. I laughed out loud a few times.

I promised to watch another tomorrow... yay!

Check out hallmark channel, there are lots of good ones on there.

But... but I don't want to.

He probably doesn't want to fantasize about running into a long lost boyfriend when he goes home from his big city job to the tiny NE town with snow only in picturesque locations just to fall in love and move back home...

Oh, wait, that doesn't narrow it down much, I think they have about 4.346436643556k movies (+/-6) with that plot :). I haven't had cable in over a decade, but this time of year when I go to my moms that's usually what she's watching and that's usually the plot...

I guess I should have actually answered the question...

Haven't been in the mood but I like watching Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Grinch (either cartoon or live action, both solid), Elf, or the old claymation shows since I have them in a DVD set...

Where's y'all's manners? We're supposed to have a nice, normal thread before we spin it off the rails.

One I like:

Trading Places

I forgot to add the classic Ernest Saves Christmas, Jim Varney played an odd dude but was a stand up fellow

Die Hard

Or

First Blood

Both of which took place at Christmas time, so in my opinion are Christmas movies.

My daughter has watched White Christmas (yes, the one from 1954) at least 20 times this month and will probably watch it another dozen times before New Years. It’s her favorite movie and I think it’s on constantly this entire month.

A Christmas story has to top the list. The sequel that came out a year or two ago is surprisingly good. My 6 year old daughter has watched it almost daily this month. The ending made me legitimately tear up haha. My wife insists the kids are too small, but I loved Gremlins when I was my daughters age, even though it was scary. And in my opinion, IS a Christmas movie

It's a Wonderful Life (1946) loosely based on "A Christmas Carol"
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) animated
A Christmas Carol (1938) or (1984), Scrooge, who doesn't know that name
3 Godfathers (1948), kinda x-mas-e, even with Bank robbing, shooting, and horse chases, also filmed in Death Valley

Type with both hands buddy...
