Fan clutch acts up immediately after replacing radiator


Is the fan still spinning when the engine is idling?
Yes, it is still spinning at idle. Note, I said excessive fan noise. The fan is definitely moving air when needed, taking off from a long stop with the engine hot and >90 degrees outside you can hear it start to engage a little bit, but it goes away when it cools off or the truck starts moving. It is operating normally. Which kind of bugs me, that the problem went away with no real explanation.

When its really hot mine is locked all the time, I don't care the very minimum amount of fuel economy loss is a hell of a lot cheaper than a replacement engine from being damaged from overheating. However, it is strange it got silent or rather not locking up completely all of a sudden...I have the HD clutch on purpose I want maximum cooling and I want my AC to work properly so you need all the air flow you can get.
