Failing fuel injectors - E85 to blame?

leave it to GM to put un programmed computers in their flex fuel vehicles........

;brownbag;

LOL

I used E85 from the beginning of May until Mid August.

I called the gas station and they said there'd been no problem (except for new flex fuel GM vehicles whose computers weren't programmed for the E85 and were having check engine lights come on). They sent me a $25 dollar gift card.

Is that a Federal Gov't subsidized gift card, so you don't "make trouble" about E85? Either way, I'd call back EVERY week... that $25 can really help fill the tank, lol!

#4 has bit the dust

Driving down the interstate to work and suddenly the truck started running rough. Cylinder #1's fuel injector is no longer working. I'm going to replace the remaining two while I'm at it. The dealer suggested that having them cleaned may help...guess I don't have to worry about that now.

I've got a great deal for you all on some injectors...would make lovely Christmas tree ornaments... Any takers??

Sorry, forgot. I switched back to regular fuel too. I ran it down low (2 gal left) and filled it up, then ran it down low again and filled it up and I'm at the end of that tank. Guess it's not the E85.

#5 is dead too!

In the few days it took me to get the three new injectors the truck started running even worse and I'd suspected I was on 4 cylinders. I change the three original injectors and found that two of the three had no electrical continuity. This means 5 of the 6 fuel injectors all died within just a few weeks of one another.

Also my dad spoke with a friend from the dealer he used to work for and he did some research and said that absolutely no one is having trouble with E85 and there are no cars having trouble with injectors right now.

Anyone want some grimy dirty fuel injectors that don't work? I figure they'd be great on a Christmas tree....
