Lets see if someone responds this time....

Its a 1997 2.3L
i have fixed all but 2 codes out of 6 total.
With in the last year i have replaced:
IAC valve
spark plugs and wires
dpfe sensor
egr valve (and cleaned the egr tube)
egr solenoid
carbon canister sensor
both o2 sensors.
brand new gas tank filler neck and gas cap
brand new fuel pump

I have checked all the vacuum line for leaks, cleaned the maf sensor. The fuel pressure is right at 38psi at idle.

The two codes are:
excessive egr flow P402
and one for "No DTC definintion" something with the carbon canister sensor

Ive put a scanner on it and when it goes into open loop it runs like shit and sounds like its missing. But runs fine in closed loop.
I also stuck a timing light on the secondary coil pack and found that two cylinders are not getting spark from the coil.
I also swapped that coil with a known good one and nothing changed

how do your dpfe hoses look like. i've seen them cause some strange things like this. they are specific to where they hook up.

You've GOT to get those two cylinders firing before attempting to fix the code. Have you checked for spark directly from the coil? Is it a bad plug wire?

If the code is still being thrown and you have both cylinders firing, it's most likely the DPFE sensor again. From what I've experienced, they're not very well made. It certainly could have gone out again. *shrug*

Ok so i did the test on the dpfe sensor and it failed so i exchanged it for a new one. so i have more testing to do, but fingers are crossed.

I swapped ecus that is 98 4 cylinder auto trans. And now on the secondary coil pack. 3 of the plugs are getting spark but one is not. So now im wondering if I have two bad ecus.

Alright now im confused, I decided to check the timing belt to see if everything was lined up. It wasnt, the crank was off by two or 3 teeth. I got it all back together and it wont start, it gets spark, it gets fuel. I noticed the tach was not registering any rpms when i was cranking it this would be the crank position sensor right?

Would a crank position sensor cause a no start situation?

Thank you to the ONLY two members to respond.

Otherwise, this has been a waste of time.
Least i can figure this shit out on my own.

-Later guys
