Factory equipment " Perfomance Axle " ??

The original window sticker on my 1989 BII states that it has a "Performance
Axle" , Anyone know what this means. I was thinking it meant larger spline than stock, but does it also mean different gear ratio??

find your axle code on your door jam and then you can figure out what it is. most likely lower gear ratio, or 8.8- dana 35, type axle

It means that it has a limited-slip.
