Hey all,

I found a factory Ford bush bar for my '91 Ranger XLT but when I went to install it I had assumed the plate steel vertical parts bolted to the frame rails but they do not. The frame spacing is 30" or so and the uprights are only 24" apart.

Obviously the PO didn't include some sort of bracket to make up this 6" different. Can someone post pics of them so I can fab some similar to what the factory ones look like ?

Anything will help,

Yours,
Leigh

This may help somewhat

On a first gen the vertical side plates mount roughly inside the frame rails rather than outside. It comes out to a roughly 2' measurement like what you have going on.

I don't know how a second gen grille guard mounts since they don't have exposed bumper bolts like a first gen though.

Oh, I see now. I have the little 'L' shape brackets that go on the front and was going to drill the bumper to fasten them since I don't have a riveted bumper as you say. Well, suppose I'll have to put on my thinking cap on and fab something up then. Luckily the holes in the verticals that go behind the bumper match up to the existing holes in the frame rails so it's just a matter of making spacers I suppose, just a pita it doesn't direct mount.

Thank you for the input, very much appreciated!

Leigh
