F250 shock mounts

So I picked up aset of the F250 shock mounts as shown in the tech library. Very beefy units I might add. Next week or two I expect to get them put in. But I wonder what others have done to gusset the back side of these mounts or gusset the back side of the cutup coil buckets.

I expect I'll slice some 2x2 square tube I have to make some gussets to weld to the backsides of the coild bucket and shock mount and then bolt to the frame.

And because a friend asked me and I don't know... What are the chances these wonderfully inexpensive mounts could hold up to coilovers if put in place of the coil buckets?
 
I would think with a bit of added reinforcement, they could work as a mounting point for a coilover (they're like 3/16" thick). You'd have to support them on the frame well though.

As for the buckets, I basically just welded them to the side of the F-250 mounts (some pics of what I did here. I also modded them to get a longer coil in there as well).
 
Thanks... I'll pass that on to my friend. I still need to see what shocks I need for my Ranger project. Getting these shock mounts in finishes the front of this project, I can concentrate now on getting motor mounts fabbed, then the cab back on the truck.

Then, well, I have a Chrysler 8.25" rear axle with the 4.10s to match the truck. And I am gathering materials to swap that into the rear of the Ranger with a 3 linked setup (upper link wishbone...).

Then I have some fab to do on my ZJ bumpers...
 
moving buckets...

I am going to move my buckets as well. I have another 1 1/2 inches I can go and still be alignable. SO I plan to move my bucket down 1 inch for the lift gain and then also add in another inch so i can eliminate my 1" spacer. While doing all this i am planning on also ading the 250 shaock towers. How do you figure how high or low to actually place them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
well you have to look how much travel you have and at your shocks. make sure that you dont bottom out your shocks before something else bottoms out. shocks dont make good bump stops. set them as close to this as possible and then you will have as much droop as possible.
