Just wondering if it would be possible to swap out the front I-beams from an F150 onto a Ranger. I have an 85 F150 that I may be stripping down. I'm thinking that if possible, it would give me longer beams, wider track width, and better brakes. Course the bolt pattern is different, no big deal cause if it would work I could swap in the 8.8 in the rear of the F150 to match width, or I have access to an early Bronco 9 inch that is only a few inches wider on each side than the current 7.5. Any thoughts on this?

it has been done before but takes a bit of modifiction to the beams. There is another thread i read a couple of months ago on in which someone did this.

where is the thread or some more info on this? cuz i was at the local junk yard and found a truck with them and they are equal length and longer. So instead of cutting and adding a piece ( ranger beams) wouldn't it be better to cut and take away a piece then weld back together? I know the spindle size wouldn't match but the inner bearing size is the same so cant you swap out the spindles from the ranger one to the f-150 beams? I also read that the mounting location for the springs is wider so the look like /---\. but since the f-150 beams are way too long then once you cut them to bring them back in but still have your +4 inch per side will they match up?
