ok i couldnt find this in the tech library... im looking to swap my ranger leaf springs with f150 leaf springs... does anybody know what year i should look for, and what would be involved... im not looking for added payload, just less sag with a wheeler in the back. i also dont care about a stiff ride... thanks

I'm looking in to it too the year is 95 from a two wheel drive looks like it will work will have to move the rear spring perch forward dont know if the front one will have to get moved back the keep the wheel centered in the wheel well, I have a set just haven't try it

ok... im gonna keep looking around and see if anyone has done it on other forums. but dont let this post discourage you from posting, please keep commenting with ideas

search a bit more there is a guy on here that did it like six months ago without moving shacles

The PO of my truck said he put F150 leaf and coil springs in. I dont know if its true, but I doubt it doesnt look like its lifted but I dont know stock heights well anyway heres a pic::dunno:

ok so having read that, I definitely dont have 150 leafs. But now I am curious if they really provided 6in of lift and how much would you have to move your brackets because I definitely wouldnt ratchet a frikin spring in:shok: Anyone done this or have info on eye-eye measurements of 150 leafs please post because my curiousity is now spiked.:icon_twisted:

I did it in my B2. It lifted it considerably. Probably just 4 inches though. There is a pic in my build thread. I need to take a leaf out. Its a lil rough. Mine came from an 89 2wd. The swap was easy. No moving brackets and the axle stayed in the same spot

I recently helped a friend replace the worn out springs in his 1989 Bronco2.

the first attempt used a set of Explorer springs... (That I had laying around) The
Bronco2 looked rediculous (Like Peewee Herman wearing Slashes hat and pretending to shred on Slashe's guitar) and was at least 4" above stock ride height....

He wouldn't even try driving it that way, so what we did was go out
to the junkyard and grabbed a set of Explorer sport monoleafs.

The monoleafs were not installed as is because the bolted to the spring spacers were too tall for the stock bronco2 U-bolts to reach, so we removed one to shorten the spacer and then while they were apart anyway a crazy idea came to mind... so we removed two more of the spacer blocks and installed a pair of the ranger "helper" leafs from a pair of Ranger Springs in my scrap bin.

Stock ride height, so Give but with both of use standing in a bussle rack in the rear receiver no actual "sag"

Now onto the ACTUAL discussion Ranger.

What I run in my Ranger are Explorer leafs, the springs I have are from a 4dr Explorer with the towing package. Getting my 300lbs onto the step in the rear bumper compresses the rear suspension by mabey 3/4".

I don't know why anyone would search past Explorer Leafs for a Ranger since they are a direct bolt in.

Hmm now wheels turning Im all over anything that lifts cheap. Wanted to do explorer springs but 1.5-2" nah not worth it. I dont know much about leaf springs so dont mean to sound like a noob but which leaf would you remove? Is the 4" with or without the stock lift blocks?
