f150 ring and pinion

is it possiable to swap gears from a f150 8.8 into my ranger 8.8

i currently have 3.27 gears and need to swap in some 3.55 or close

8.8 is an 8,8. Everything from that rear will fit yours. However you may need to reset the gear mesh as the 8.8 from the 150 may/will be different from your ranger 8.8.

thanks, i know alot of axles have different size carriers for gears. wasnt sure if my 3.27's had the same carrier as the 3.55's and was also concerned the f-150 pinion would be different,
as far as settin them up, thats not a huge problem

going from a 327 to a 355 wont be much of a difference if even noticeable at all

There is no "carrier break" (difference in the carrier for different gear ratios)
in ford differentials as there is in say for example Dana axles....

the carrier in the f150 and explorer will be 31 spline, while the ranger will be 28.
