I know this is the wrong forum but ive had no luck with any others and u guys have been great with my ranger. so here it is I lost the motor in my 1998 f-150 its a 4.6 I have a 1997 f-150 with a good 4.6 motor will the 97 motor go in my 98 without any problems?

If the eighth digit of both vin numbers is the same, yeah.

yes both vin numbers have a 6 as the eighth number so im all set?

You should be OK, but count the valve cover bolts. The Windsor is what the digit 6 is on your VIN number. The Windsor has 13 valve cover bolts, and the Romeo only has 11.

Are they interchangeable? Yes. But you have some other changes that need to take place such as the crank having 8 bolts on the Windsor vs. 6 bolts on the Romeo.
