Ok... Time warner sucks. I've had an account with them for a week at my new apartment, and monday morning (sunday night probably) the modem looses the connection. Great. I call them up on monday morning, telling them its down, so they have me reset it/unplug it etc etc. Still doesn't work. Turns out they canceled my account due to a clerical error on THEIR side, and when the re-enabled the account the modem quit. So now I have to wait till f***ing thursday afternoon (MAYBE :temper:) for some tech to come out and tell me I need a new modem, when I can easily take the damn thing to their office and get a new one myself. (I pass it daily going to school and work) bureaucracy sucks! :temper: not like I need the internet for work or anything important like that..... oh.....wait. I do. :temper:

I work for Insight Communications.... Time Warner is a big competetor in these parts.... Threaten to switch to another company they change their tune pretty quick.

ya the damn basturds wont come down my street becouse is a wilderness road....bull sh!t....there is 12 houses down this dirt roadand they plow it durring the winter time...this is the problems with dealing with big companys from out of your area

Our typically incapacitated government should have stepped in and made the ENTIRE US connected to a broadband network financed by "the people".....capitol hill already pisses away billions on stupid stuff. Of course they didnt and corporate greed and lobbying resulted in this country being PITIFULLY behind in this area compared to all kinds of pissant countries.

Oh, yes.....deregulation definitely facilitated lowering the cost of providing these communication services to the public.....just like ATMs meant the cost of banking would go down and CDs would make buying music cheaper.

It's our own fault....with our own apathy and greed it's no wonder we have to deal with this stuff [/soapbox]

Well don't feel too bad because I've had the same luck with Charter. The only problem is they're the only cable outfit out here. I've got the phone, internet, cable package.

I've always wanted to try Time Warner.

why don't you go and stand on their doorstep until they hand over another modem to you...

I have i2000 wireless internet. It's my only option besides dial-up for high speed. DSL is not here, and too many tree's for satellite. Anyways, since I have gotten it about 7 months ago or so there are atleast 2-3 days a week where it goes down after 9pm or so because of some 900mhz signal interupting it somewhere between my antenna and the tower which is about 4 miles away. I live on a main street and the tower is also just on the opposite side of the street 4 miles away so any house along my road could be doing this. a few weeks ago I loss my internet for over a week and all they had to say was keep them informed and ask my neighbors if they have a baby monitor or something thats on. I asked a few, but I'll be damned if I'm going to ask 200 people. finally on labor day it started working again. They dont want to give me a credit or anything. I pay 60.00 yes 60.00/month for this service. It's rediculous, their customer service sucks too, but I dont want to go back to dial-up. guess I'll live with it for another year or so, then I hope to be out of this god forsaken state and somewhere in S.C with DSL :)

Just because you live in the stix does'nt mean you have to accept inferior service!

You can get internet service that works flawlessly from Direct-Tv for less than that. Give them a call and try it.

If you are talking about their Satellite internet, there is no line of sight for them to install it, I tried that first

Had Charter for three years. Been putting up with shitty service for three years.

I don't know how many times I've called and been told how to reset the damn modem, I know how to do that, I've done it enough times in the past three years, tell me how to fix the problem. Or maybe they could fix it themselves.

Got our cable/internet hooked back up last week (we get it shut off in the summer), the internet went down for a few hours THE SAME DAY that he hooked it up.

irony... I get the cable fixed right? 5 hours later a freakin hurricane hits here... no power for 2 days! still no power at my parents house! I swear my luck is legendary :D
